The question is not finding. Passion is created.
Passion is a product of action. You do whatever you are doing, with your whole heart and mind, you work at it, you work at getting better at it and in this process over time, you start to realize how passionate you are about it. Its not the “what” you are doing…that you are passionate about.
Steve jobs wasn’t passionate about electronics, Jeff Bezos is not passionate about e-commerce… They are passionate about the creation process, problem solving, building thriving enterprises..etc.
You have to love the process of creating the ”what” – Not the what itself.
The “what” will “suck” most of the time.
You have to love the process, the trial, the error, the testing, the failure, the improvement, overcoming the struggles and obstacles, and learning what works and what doesn’t – that is what you need to find.
Tennis champion, Novak Djokovic said in an interview with the Financial Times that “I can carry on playing at this level because I like hitting the tennis ball.” The interviewer replied in surprise: “Are there really players who don’t like hitting the ball?” Djokovic answered, “Oh yes. There are people out there who don’t have the right motivation. You don’t need to talk to them. I can see it.”
